Garden Conversations

Me:  Hasn't the wilflower garden grown in nice and thick this year? 

Brandon: Where is the wildlfower garden? 

Me:  Right here.  These tall plants, that bloom so pretty in the fall.  What did you think this was? 

Brandon: A weed patch.  

Later. 

Me: I like that you put the base of the elephant fountain in the flower garden.  

Brandon: This is a flower garden?  Does it have flowers? 

Me: No.  

Later-er. 

Me:  I like the way the plants near the back door are creating a tight space.  

Me: It's nice to have a little privacy, and a place that feels secret, and protected in all the openness of our windy hilltop surrounded by open fields.   

Brandon: You like it like this?
